heres a few ideas...
--- A 2nd year old bday skill for your character: dont ask me what will happen
--- A special aura which you can choose the colour of
--- Something unique only your character can have and not tradable
--- Mini Gaile (LOL), mini Mhenlo, Mini me (small version of you)
--- Bday pet
--- Special storage

SPECIAL AREA:
not an elite hard area, just a special area thats similar where we can get special weapons and items for our characters. these items will be customised to those who find them.
This area will be like an outpost and explorable zone.

I think a simple solution would be to add “Character AGE Titles” based on the creation date of the character. These should be Maxed titles, since it will take an entire year for each title to be awarded to a character. This would be another visual Title representation of the “Guild Wars Ancient Characters". - The title track could show you how many days are left for the next bday instead of your age (you can actually see it with /age), but it will show your age to the other people. Also the day of your characters birthday it could change the show up text to: "Happy 2 year birthday!"
- When you open the second year bday present you'll obtain 3 items: spiked eggnog, birthday cake (just as red bean cake, but with othe icon and name) and the random brand new minipet.

EDIT: Maybe you know the Zombies in Silkroad... That would be the style of flying that would be cool...

I think for the second birthday you should get something other than a mini pet.. howabout an emote or something that depends on the primary class. when you type /age your character lights up and does something cool.

I dont think Id be too wrong by saying that the majority of active guild wars players have yet to recieve their first birthday on the majority of their characters. Think about the amount of minipets that will enter the game in the week following the anniversary of purchasable character slots for example. We dont need the minipet population get too rediculous..

I would greatly appreciate a Title to show that my character is 2 years old. Shouldn't be hard to do.

The biggest problem about minipets is they take lots of storage space. I think a storage solution similar to the festival hat guy would be great. It would have to work a little different - not cloning obviously but the ability to put the pet in and take out if its there. Should be quite easy technically, as storing 1 pet would take only 1 BIT of data (0-1 value).

An important issue is also that the 1st birthday presents given out after 28th April 2007 should change. They are already very common and I think they should remain some collector value over time. At the time of May the number of minipets may even double - it was 1 year ago when Factions got released so everyone got 2 extra slots which meant 2 new characters. I expect an extreme flood of minipets incoming at that time.

Some minis ideas anyhow:

Mini Smite Crawler - UW farmers would absolutely love this!
Mini Undead Lich - we got Shiro got Varesh only need this bad guy now
Mini Shadow Nightmare - my personal favorite, i always wanted to have one.
Mini Djinn - imho Nightfall lacks iconic creatores but these are quite cool exceptions.

what I'd like to get for my 2nd birthday:
A new special (real) pet
A hero like what Razah was supposed to be: able to be any class!!!
A special emote (takes up less space than a minipet)

I could likely come up with more ideas, but I won't... you get the idea

I kinda like the idea of a special emote. For all your minipets, a different emote per minipet.

But i like even more the idea of a divine aura around the head. That would be sweet, and dyeable like that one guy said, [like a chaos axe.]
